Jan worked for our company for over 3 years and I had the pleasure of woring closely with him on many projects. Here is an outline of Jan's greatest contribution to the company: 

1. Jan is an extremely quick learner and able to master any task within a short time. He jumped in where he was needed and made himself a true asset in every role he took on at the company 

2. Jan is a reliable and hard worker. When we go onsite with a meeting, the days can be long and tough but Jan will be the person you meet there when the doors first open and still going strong when the last event closes. He does what it takes to get things done and get them done well. He has creative ideas and always comes up with a solution. If you give Jan a task you can trust it will get done. 

3. Jan takes ownership. He always tries to improve the status quo and is happy to explore new avenues of doing things. I will never forget our interview, where he called himself an "Intrapreneur" - it is honestly the perfect word to describe Jan.

Jan brought a dynamic approach to our team at HPD, making it clear from the outset that his tenure would be project-focused. Despite this, his impact was profound and lasting. Jan's keen analytical skills enabled him to swiftly assess sales data and team performance, leading to the implementation of strategic restructuring initiatives. His most significant contribution was the establishment of a tiered client management and pricing system, a legacy that positions HPD for sustained success.

Jan's value extended beyond his role as Sales Director; he emerged as a catalyst for organizational change. His proactive nature and unwavering determination to achieve results set him apart. Jan never shied away from addressing broader organizational challenges, readily offering insights and assistance. Notably, during a critical period of transition during our warehouse move, Jan exemplified his dedication by stepping up and actively supporting the team.

During Jan's 3 years on Farmboy's Leadership Team, I was continuously impressed by his business acumen.

When Jan sees a gap, he works systematically to fill it. Utilizing his strong understanding of business principals, Jan's diverse skillset and industry experience should be greatly sought after for high-growth companies. Jan re-developed the project and budget management processes at Farmboy. Capitalizing on his strong IT skills, Jan audited company systems and streamlined for proficiency. He was the resident expert on all things NetSuite and tech.

It isn't often that you get the privilege of knowing a professional as multifaceted as Jan. Since meeting Jan, I have had the opportunity to learn from him not only as an industry partner but also as his client. 

I was recently lucky enough to get the chance to work with Jan on an intricate event proposal, and while it (admittedly) often feels risky to me to allow another person to get their hands on a project I hold close to my heart, Jan undeniably helped enhance my proposal beyond even my own highest expectations. I was particularly fascinated by his unique approach to creating solutions for process-based challenges. Through my experience in working at different companies, you tend to come across a certain type of person that seems to round you out as an individual. Jan is that person for me. We have worked together for almost 2 years and in that time I have grown to respect Jan’s abilities, integrity, passion, and intelligence highly.

He has an incredibly strong analytical mind that quickly sees patterns and solutions to issues. He’s gifted in the fact that he can pull numbers, knowledge, and past experience together to provide a well-informed contribution to any discussion you can think of. Even when things are out of his wheelhouse, he is great at developing the skills and doing what needs to be done to be a success.

Jan brings the ability to create systems and procedures around pushing the company and the team forward. He uses empirical data to drive decision making and to continue to iterate to a better, more effective business.

Speaking of, Jan is a person who is all about the company. He shows great passion for both the business and its employees, which is evident in how he treats his team and how much they respect him. Jan is good at keeping people accountable to both the job and to themselves and shows a lot of compassion to those that need it.

After working with Jan for one quarter we have been able to increase our number of paying customers by 50% and we achieved our annual goal two months early. He helped us to understand which of our customer data would drive growth and he pointed out the “low-hanging fruit”. All we had to do was to tag our CRM respectively, make some changes to our on-boarding and send a few emails. We are excited to have Jan on our side when we attempt to triple our size by the end of 2019.

It was a pleasure to work with Jan during his time at HFA. I found him to be an exceptionally diligent worker. Taking responsibility for the overall management of the company pushing forward our strategic initiatives. Often there were tough decisions to be made and Jan would always give me honest and straightforward recommendations. Which I very much appreciated.
